A Contemporary South African Artist (SA 1961 – )

Linda Hojem was born in 1961 in Upington in the Northern Cape. Linda was awarded the 1st Prize Paint Parade followed by a trip overseas sponsored by Sabena. She attended the University of the Witwatersrand from 1979 to 1983 completing her B.A.F.A and History of Art Honours. Linda received the Any Millman Scholarship and travelled overseas for 3 months afterwards. She received the 1st Prize in Drawing New Signatures in 1984. She was offered the Cite International place in Paris by the Association of Arts but decided not to take it up. Linda has exhibited at the Gertrude Posel Gallery, the Market Theatre in 1986 with Mark Hipper and Unisa bought her work for Gallery 21. She was accepted for the first Biennial exhibition at the Cape Town National Gallery.
