Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jean Mortenson, (1 June 1926 – 4 August 1962) was an American actress, model and singer. She became the most popular sex symbol of the 1950’s right up to early 1960. She was ranked as one of the great female screen legends of Hollywood.
