Jaco du Plessis
Born in 1981 in Witbank, South Africa, I developed a passion for visual art early on, culminating in the completion of a National Higher Diploma from The Open Window in Pretoria in 2003. My dedication to the craft was recognized when I was named the Top Visual Arts Student, with a specialization in printmaking. During my time at The Open Window, I had the privilege of studying under renowned printmakers Diane Victor and Christiaan Diedericks, whose influence continues to shape my work today.
Over the years, my art has been exhibited internationally, reflecting a dynamic range of themes and techniques. My journey as a printmaker has allowed me to connect with diverse audiences, pushing the boundaries of traditional and contemporary printmaking practices.
