Charmain Botha was born in Pretoria in 1968.  She creates her works using mainly inks and other colour pigmented mediums contrasted with delicate threaded needle work.  This creation of both organic shapes and geometric forms serve as a reference of living organisms as well as the world of technology.  These patterns cohabitate to create a reverie of unpredictable movement and effects.  The idea is to unleash your inner artist and nurture your artist’s soul, experience creative freedom, experiment with different materials, and most importantly, to have fun.

Charmian’s inspiration comes from within, life, shapes of nature and architecture: “Ink has its own will and flow and is completely unpredictable and out of my hands, whereas thread are structured.”
