Chané Bolton
Chané draws inspiration from the ebbs and flows that occur within nature and the cyclicality that nature provides. Cyclical events happen in a particular order, one following the other, and are often repeated. Her creative process transpires in a similar manner, coupled with the emotional commitment to the creative process. Many different forms and shapes create imperfect symmetries with unique textural variations. This equilibrium provides an unmistakable sense of rhythm. Experimentation through the pragmatic alteration of observed textures and exploring a varied palette, is the starting point of the creative journey.
Chané embraces her brush strokes, exploiting the use of various objects to create further markings and texture while additionally working with thin glossy and matt layers of predominantly oil paint.
Chané is currently residing in South Africa and her works have been exhibited in both South African and New Zealand. She provides guidance to Corporate Collections and participates in the evaluation of art scholarship programs.
